[K12OSN] ldap with exchange question

I am new to ldap infact I am tring to justify roll out of openldap as 
our master domain controler.  All of our system are linux except for a 
few exchange server and a legacy ASP server.  I can move off exchange 
what I want to know is can exchange be setup to auth of an openldap 
server.  I search googles but nothing came up could be just looking for 
the worng terms.  I thought I would ask the list.  Have any of you tired 
and has it worked.
