Yeah... I did the same thing, but 4 servers with 6GB each.  Apparently, 
the bigmem kernel (required for 32 bit motherboards with over 4GB of 
RAM) causes some instability.  NOW, I need an SMP-bigmem kernel that is 
stable.  I'm not sure if such a thing exists.  I've just been pretending 
it's all in my imagination, hoping the problem just goes away.  I'll let 
you know how that turns out for me -- in  the meantime, let me know if 
you find anything promising. :)
