[K12OSN] Weird GNOME stuff

Hi K12-List

We've had two servers running K12 4.0.0 giving the same problem. What 
happens is, users log in, and some windows come up with crosses and 
weird stuff, but there's no text, so the error message can't be read.

What can I change/do to fix/prevent this?

Any help would be appreciated.
