Seconded. I tried using the Webmin cluster users and groups feature to
synchronize two Samba servers, but with limited success (or perhaps I
misunderstood what it was supposed to do). LDAP is the way to go, without a
doubt. It's a steep learning curve, though. I have a very fat manila folder
of printed-off HOW-TO's and other info, but am not much the wiser, although
at least I have it working in a test setup. Can anyone suggest any
particularly good books or other references on the topic?

 is good, especially since it's free, but it was last updated in 1999, and
of course, says nothing about OpenLDAP)
