Videolan client, xine, totem, and mplayer are on freshrpms.net.
The vlc binary tar file here:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-redhat.html
is really a set of RPMs for RH9/fedora, so no trouble to install.
If you need the Videolan server you will probably have to
compile it,but the client program can act as a server for
some things.
