Tim,

First of all, the server mouse and the workstation mouse are
completely independant. It really doesn't matter what kind of
mouse the server has, or even if it has a mouse at all.

For the workstation, you are correct in setting the mouse
port to /dev/ttyS0. But, there's a couple of things to
check:

1) Make sure you set the port correctly. ttyS0 is com1, ttyS1 is com2.
Try both, in case you've got it plugged into the other port.

2) Make sure your workstation is actually picking up the settings that
   you think.

If you are specifying the X_MOUSE_DEVICE setting on a per-workstation
basis, make sure the workstation knows it's own hostname. OR,
use the MAC address in the brackets, ie: [00:04:50:00:01:23]
   instead of the hostname.

Or, if all of the workstations have serial mice, you can set it
   in the [Default] section.

3) Make sure you get the mouse protocol set correctly. X_MOUSE_PROTOCOL
you can try values like 'Microsoft', 'Logitech', 'MouseMan' and
there's a bunch of others. The XFree86.org website has a listing
   at:

       http://www.xfree86.org/4.3.0/mouse.4.html

4) To make sure the workstation is picking up the proper settings,
try setting 'SCREEN_01 = shell' in the lts.conf file. Then boot
the client. You should get a shell prompt. At the prompt,
   try typing:

      getltscfg -a

It should show all of the settings that the workstation will use.
Make sure it shows what you expect it to show.

5) Try popping into the IRC channel. #ltsp at irc.freenode.net

Hope that helps,
