Periodically delete the file
/home/$USER/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/user/psprint/pspfontcache
and you will see improvement is peed. This file keeps growing with use
of different fonts. Picked this up at www.oooforums.org ad it worked for
me.
Operative word is "improve" Others have replied generics in detail.
