[K12OSN] acroread failure

Hey,
What's up with this?

[root at localhost bin]# cd /usr/local/Acrobat5/bin
[root at localhost bin]# ./acroread
Warning: charset "UTF-8" not supported, using "ISO8859-1".
Aborted

And how can I fix it? Please...
I have xPDF, of course, for reading files, but, for some reason, xPDF
won't allow me to save files. And Acrobat Reader has a few other handy
features. This isn't mission critical, really, but I'd like to get it
going, anyway.
(I'm reading the LPI tutorials from DRobbins (Gentoo guy) at IBM
Developerworks and I've dled them all as PDF and I think acroread would
be handier for reading them, but xPDF is doing the job for now.)
