[K12OSN] Thin Clients

I just received some WYSE Terminals over the weekend and after looking
them over I don't see how it would be possible to get them to work.
There is no boot ROM (at least that I found) that could be replaced with
one for LTSP and I cannot see how it would be possible to use some type
of drive to boot them. I whistled this project dead about 5 minutes
after cracking the case. I remember seeing a post about 3 months ago
here from someone trying to get these to work but haven't heard anything
back. But maybe some other versions have a boot ROM.

Good luck

Hi folks,

Thanks for the informative responses.

I am aware of the many quality thin clients available, and to be honest,
if I had the access to funds, I'd go for it.

My question, though, concerns older thin clients I might pick up from
government surplus or used equipment dealers or EBay. What can I use?
Is there a list somewhere?

Jason :)

Similar systems are also available from casetronic
(http://www.casetronic.com/Product/PCcase/2699/CS-2699.html ). In case
you want to check/compare pricing. And then there is
http://www.disklessworkstations.com/ for another option. I used the
casetronic 2699 but modded to use the VIA Eden 533, not the 1GHz option
that is standard.
