I'm not saying it was suggested -- but please don't discontinue 
supporting apt.  I am a debian user, and apt makes me feel at home. :) 
I tried yum, and it just didn't feel right.  I assume it's all what you 
prefer, and since the apt/yum repository lives well together, hopefully 
we won't have to choose.
