I've mentioned this before, but if you take the small amount of
time to set up backuppc, all of these kinds of things take care
of themselves and there is a really handy web interface for
everything except initially adding machines. (Yell if you need
help with that part...).

I run it on my own desktop box with a big (but cheap) IDE drive
and the compression and linking lets it store about 5x what you
