[K12OSN] Broadcast message

okay I did the 'xhost +' hack and the message DID display...

I did it at the CLI as root  /xmessage -center -timeout 30 -display 
ws251.ltsp:0 hello/
the following warnings appeared and did not return to bash prompt until 
a.) user clicks the 'okay', b.) timeout wears off, c.) ctrl-c

Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion
Warning: Unable to load any usable fontset
