[K12OSN] Improve loading time for OOo

Just about ready to deploy four LTSP servers on our school network. Most 
is working great. :-)

OpenOffice loads a bit slow tho'.
Is there any way to improve the performance of OOo during its startup? 
In its Windows version there's a setting that will preload and leave a 
'stub' of the program, running as a background process at all time, 
making start of the individual components quite speedy.

Has anyone worked out such a hack for LTSP 4.1 and OOo 1.1.0?
