I have been using, for 3 years now, Fundamentals of Java second edition,
by Lambert and Osborne. This book is listed as "Comprehensive"
version. There is also an introductory and basic version
Comprehensive ISBN 0-619-05962-1 which is hard cover regular price 93
dollars Canadian so around 60 US but it has softcover version
available is an ExamView pro cd which has teacher info , manual,
exercise results, etc including a complete set of question banks to make
quizes, tests, etc for printing or in html format for online use, with
automatic grading if using the online version
I like it. It's forward lists it as being used frequently in Computer
Science level 1 and 2 courses in undergraduate work.
I teach it to Grade 12's. Next year, we are making it available as AP
course, hopefully, same textbook.
