If you are using k12ltsp 4.1, then open
/usr/lib/mozilla-1.7.2/greprefs/all.js, and set your global proxy
settings. Example: (look for the pref lines in "all.js")
pref("network.proxy.type", 1);
pref("network.proxy.http", "192.168.0.1");
pref("network.proxy.http_port", 8080);
