[K12OSN] winpopup messages

Has anyone got a way to display winpopup (aka net send) messages on the
k12ltsp clients?  I'm trying to use the "message command = "
configuration option in samba, but I'm getting GTK access denied
messages  in my log files (I know it runs as guest account though... any
workarounds, other solutions to messaging clients without them replying
back?)
