[K12OSN] scanner on client

has anyone configured a scanner on a LTSP client?  If so, would you happen
to have a suggestion for a good model scanner that works in this
configuration and if possible I assume I need to edit the lts.conf for
that use.  I have a need for another community scanner for teachers.  I
feel I'm backtracking if I hook up the scanner to a windows client.
