Why don't you give it a try and let us help you?  That's what we're here
for.  Get a computer that you can play around with (for the server) and
another machine that you can use as a terminal and give it a try.  It's a
great way to learn and once you get going and get into using Linux you'll
love it. K12LTSP actually is very easy to set up....simply do a default
install and it will just work.
