I've never had to worry about sort order before. I don't think this is an issue.

I think the -C switch will do what you want while running squid. It rebuilds the databases (If I remember right, I don't have access to the machine right now)>

Hi Peter,

OK, for what it is worth I can't find in comment on this on the squidguard 
site. But my memory is that the domain and url lists have to be in 
alphabetical order. I always sort the local-block lists after I add new 
records.

sort <infile> -o <outfile>
