[K12OSN] Quicken and Wine

I'm not sure about Quicken with Wine. But to get Wine
set up you should use one of the setup tools after you
install the Wine package. Two that I have used are
winesetuptk and winetools. I've used winetools most
recently and it's pretty easy. It sets up the user's
config file and will install fonts, the Windows
installer, and other stuff. It notifies you that you
must have a valid Windows license in order to install
some of the files it wants to install.

It will download and install IE6 and Windows Media
Player if you want it to.

Make sure you run it from the command line the first
time, because I've found that it hangs on downloading
fonts. It's apparently trying to get them from a site
that no longer exists. At the command line you'll be
able to see the filename of the font it is trying to
download, and then you can find it on sourceforge and
manually install it by typing: wine yourfontname.exe

I've found that installing these fonts makes it much
easier to read text in certain Windows apps.

An interesting Wine site is www.frankscorner.org
