Nice, i did know about it but i hadnt a slightest clue that it has precedance over ~/.mozilla settings.

I should write a howto about multi user profile management in linux. Is there anything out there that touches this subject on a deeper level? If not my carpetal tunnel itches like mad.

Subject: [K12OSN] Found it!...Setting proxy in Firefox for ALL users...HOW?

I'm on fire today! I found it (though many thanks for the suggestions)

I noticed that every users profile has a file prefs.js.....so I then
searched the computer to see if there was a "master" prefs file...and
there is....in /usr/lib/firefox-1.0.6/defaults/profile/ This is where
the initial "pull" of prefa comes from....so I simply set the proxy
settings for one user....then looked at their prefs.js file.....copied the
lines with the proxy info.....and pasted into
/usr/lib/firefox-1.0.6/defaults/profile/ prefs.js and voila! that is now
the default! Yay!
