Edit:
/usr/share/applications/gcompris.desktop
and change:
Exec=gcompris
to:
Exec=gcompris -w
Another option (looking at "gcompris --help"), is to use the "-x" switch
instead of "-w". "-x" runs it in full-screen, but does not change the
video mode.
