That did not work, but I think the problem is that the screensavers for
Gnome & IceWM don't work on the Mac--anyone having this problem?--and
not because of any flaws in fl_tt. The KDE screensaver does work when I
manually invoke it at the client; but I get the same error in fl_tt as
with Gnome and IceWM when trying to invoke the screensaver on the Mac.
Here's the error that appears in the terminal in which I called fl_tt:
xscreensaver: 11:52:14: running xscreensaver-gl-helper: Permission denied

If at all possible, please re-run xscreensaver with the command
line arguments `-sync -verbose -no-capture', and reproduce this
bug. That will cause xscreensaver to dump a `core' file to the
current directory. Please include the stack trace from that core
file in your bug report. *DO NOT* mail the core file itself!
That won't work.
http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/bugs.html explains how to create
the most useful bug reports, and how to examine core files.
The more information you can provide, the better. But please
report this bug, regardless!

xscreensaver-command: no screensaver is running on display ws253.ltsp:0.0
Hope this feedback is useful.
