[K12OSN] Making K12LTSP 'school friendly'

Again I admit this is a piece of software that is used in our schools, a
few hundred copies, and I have never sat in front of it and watched it
work.  I have no idea what it does or how the kids benefit from it.  I
just know everyone "needs" it.  

There has to be an alternative somewhere, even if it is web based.  I
just need to get more familiar with these must have items and find
alternatives.
