[K12OSN] Open Source equivalent to MS Movie Maker?

My first experience with MS Movie Maker last night
(making a home movie of our brand new baby girl) was
extremely easy to use. What open source software is
available that can do what this product does (AND do
it with such ease?). I have also seen Apple's iMovie
in action and it appears to be on the same level as
MS's Movie Maker.

Here's what I was able to do so quickly and easily:
- shot some short, grainy video clips with my digital
camera (not the best way to shoot video, but oh well)
- imported the clips onto a story board in Movie Maker
- added animated opening titles and ending credits
- inserted transitions between clips (wipe right)
- added an audio clip (mp3 of a song)
- exported to WMV

Can we do something like this in Linux? Please tell
me we can! I'd HATE to be dependent on MS for this.
