[K12OSN] playing wav files on terminals

Dear Folks,
 despite having the sound running ok on terminals in the obvious
applications (like the daily Doonesbury cartoon), Mozilla chokes on wav
files. Wav seems to be the file type of choice for the voice mail stuff.
Any suggestions on how to make it seamless from Mozilla, or what app to
use if seamless is not an option? Thank you, julius
