unfortunately all data would be wrong,  well maybe the Mac numbers would
be close.  but since almost all computers today are sold with some version
of Windows installed.  so they are all counted, but there is no indication
and probably no way of knowing how many of those computers are used mostly
if not exclusively in some version of open source software...and since
most Linux installations are shared software installs, there is no real
way to count how many systems have Linux, for example.  I have personally
installed linux on a number of other peoples computers, I have never
reported either my installation or any of these other installs to anyone,
so I doubt there is any way to count.
