I think that this is a Fedora 3 related issue. crond will not start this
job. It reports
Feb 11 20:03:37 boesrv01 crond[5427]: (*system*) BAD FILE MODE
(/etc/cron.d/squidGuard)
I read squidGuard into pico and wrote it as squidGuard1 (changing the
start time for testing), and restarted crond and squidGuard1 works, but
squidGuard generates a message when crond is rstarted.
[root at boesrv01 cron.d]# ls -l
total 16
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 278 Dec 7 23:08 squidGuard
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 278 Feb 11 20:17 squidGuard1
[root at boesrv01 cron.d]# ls -lZ
-rwxr-xr-x root root system_u:object_r:etc_t squidGuard
-rw-r--r-- root root root:object_r:etc_t squidGuard1
I have no idea what the SELinux stuff is about (a summer project). Prior
to installing squid, I had a similar problem with my rsync job in cron.d
and "solved" it the same way.
Any ideas?
