I think the java applet security model keeps it from following
the CLASSPATH inherited from the browser's local shell, but I
don't know enough about it to know the right way to pass it.
I think the classes may have to be downloaded from the
codebase URL instead. If you are running an application instead
of an applet it should follow CLASSPATH.
