It can do a full restore on a unix system if you work hard enough.
You just have to fdisk/format the partitions first and make
the disk bootable aftwards, none of which is especially
difficult and it lets you restore to somewhat different
hardware.  Since you only get a "client's eye" view of a
Windows system it can't restore those from bare metal. Having
an image based copy that you could drop in quickly, then
update from backuppc would probably save time in both cases.
