You can do it again this summer to use the new/improved Fedora/RH
directory server instead of openldap.  It looks much more robust.

It would be really great to have that glued into
http://www.openfiler.org/ for home directories and account
administration so any number of k12ltsp servers can be added
with no local configuration needed.
