[K12OSN] which xserver to use?

I'm having trouble getting the display to work on one
of my thin clients.  I'm getting a "no screens found"
message.  Googling leads me to believe that I'm using
the wrong xserver.  

How do I know which xserver to use?  

I can boot knoppix.  Can I somehow find out which
xserver knoppix has chosen for my machine?
