[K12OSN] recommend a sound card

Thanks for the suggestions, all who responded.  I
ended up buying a few of these (see below) from
logicalplus.com.  They were cheap and shipped quickly.
 I tested one out and it sounds good.  Best of all, it
was automatically recognized and configured.
