Chuck,

smbldap-passwd works fine. I was just going through David Trask's step
by step online tutorial and in the middle of step 18 after
issuing

smbldap-useradd -m -a username

smbldap-passwd username

  (both of which worked fine)

I tried smbpasswd username and got the message:

"failed to bind to server with dn= cn=Manager,dc=hortonstaff,dc=dev
Error: Invalid Credentials"

and then

"Connection to LDAP server failed for the 1 try!
Connection to LDAP server failed for the 2 try!
etc"

The other command that won't work is pdbedit. It also gives the message

"failed to bind to server with dn= cn=Manager,dc=hortonstaff,dc=dev
Error: Invalid Credentials"

Also, the scripts are in /opt/IDEALX/sbin does that mean they're in
the wrong place?

Thanks for the help,
Jimmy
