I've never seen this on 4.2.0 (FC3), but if this were RH9 here is
what I would say...
run this command as root:
rm -i /var/lib/rpm/__db.00?
to remove /var/lib/rpm/__db.001, /var/lib/rpm/__db.002, /var/lib/rpm/__db.003
