I have DG (on a separate machine) set up to use ident. All
administrators and teacher usernames are placed in the DG config file
called exceptionuserlist so that DG does not block anything for them.

The only problem I've run into using ident is that identd becomes a CPU
hog on the LTSP server with a lot of web browsing. Identd even crashes
sometimes. I believe the high CPU load is caused by DG asking for a
username for every single object passing through it. Pages with many
images are a big problem.
