[K12OSN] Ldap address book functionality?

Since LDAP seems to be a hot topic: is anyone using their LDAP
directory as an address book suitable for viewing through
outlook/evolution, etc?   Do the scripts being developed for
authentication include the fields needed for looking up
email addresses?  How about a place for addresses and phone numbers?

Also, sendmail and postfix can use LDAP for alias/group lookups
and to find the final delivery location for email.  Is that
schema included or could it be?
