Yes.  the script is /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/rc.d/seti, and in my lts.conf 
file, the I have RCFILE_03 = "seti" so that the client grabs the work 
unit, and crunches away.

I don't know why the process just dies.  I have tried to use screen to 
make it load, but get errors about "you need to be connected to a terminal"

The magical folder creation is nice, because if an IP address is handed 
to another client, it just takes over the work unit of the last thin 
client. :)

Anyone know how to get a shell script to stay running on a local client?
