This will be very rough around the edges Byron... so stay tuned for
more precise guidance from a more experienced user.
I believe that the user will have to open a terminal window and run a
command along the lines of -
for windows file system
mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
for linux file system - do
mount -t ext2 /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
There could be issues of users (other than su) not having privledges
of being able to mount the floppy drive which are default
configurations at install time - that could be thwarted by editing a
configuration file... one which I couldn't tell you.
Actually, I just googled and found a link that will show you how to
allow users to mount a floppy drive...
