Hi,
Did you get this working ?  Try this... leave the USB tower unplugged until 
you login. Let us know.  Love Mindstorm.  Another neat robot program is 
MindRover from CogniToys.  They have a lego mod that you build ( out of 
legos ) and you can simulate the robot in their program.
