One correction to David's excellent instructions:

When nfs mounting /home, you need to make sure that
the local machine has an empty directory called /home
and that it has the proper permissions.  This
directory is called the mount point and it needs to
exist before you can mount something to it.

So when David said to delete /home, you probably
should instead delete just the contents of /home. 
Then you are free to use /home as your mount point.
