[K12OSN] screen saver

I had a compaq system that when the screensaver or power saving would kick in, it came up with a text screen(generally x server startup stuff). After pressing a key, it would wake up properly into X (nothing would be lost). I think it is an apm issue (at least on my case).

Mike,

Sounds like the Xserver is crashing. It definately shouldn't be doing
what you've described.

Tell us about the workstation. How much memory, and what kind of video
card?
