The only thing that it really helps to have on SCSI drives is /home.  
If you want to save money, I'd put my LDAP/NIS/Samba and the NFS  
homes on an older server with SCSI disks. You can get them fairly  
cheep. Then you can use dual core CPUs with IDE disks and lots of RAM  
for the terminal servers themselves.
