Assuming you've got the directory/samba share for your database file created  
with the right permissions, and the share language all set in smb.conf, I 
think if you add the following to smb.conf, it should work:

under gobal -
"oplocks =  no" (my parens) or on a per file basis "veto oplock files 
= /*.fileextension/*.nextfileextension/"
