[K12OSN] rDesktop sound issues

I have upgraded to ltsp 4.0 with the latest K12LTSP
and am having a hard time with rdesktop and sound.

Seems I also get slow sound issues through an X
session.

I ran knoppix directly from one of the diskless
stations and the rdesktop session to a windows 2003
terminal server (here after called w2k03) with sound
sounded perfect!

I had to do a an esd wrapper thing and rdesktop rdp5
config, and change the w2k03 server to even get sound
on an x session.

SO I am on the opinion that :

1) linux x session
           &
2) rdesktop ltsp to w2k03 server

piped through esd doesn't work.
UNLESS some guru has a fix.

But since knoppix works then maybe if I can get a
local session of rdesktop "local application"
directly from the diskless box to the w2k03 to work.

I think I would also need to run sound locally too.

SO big question how do I run sound and rdesktop
locally?  (not through ltsp session).

I have been messing with ssh configs and have had
sucess with uptime and other small apps.

But this seems a LOT harder.

I really don't want everybody to boot to a knoppix cd
just to run decent sound and rdesktop from the w2k03
server locally.

btw the rest of ltsp 4.0 is just AWESOME!
