I was shocked! but alas it's true.

Put the following in a text file and create this user using the bulk add
in webmin
create:baduser:123:uid:gid:Bad User:/home/baduser /:/bin/bash:::::

do an ls on /home

and all looks well
browse /home with a gui file browser and all looks well

do an ls -ld baduser
on /home

no such file or directory exists

open webmin and pull up the info on bad user you will see the their home
dir is " /home/baduser / "

if you then run the reset-all-desktop script it will run fine up until
baduser after which it will
chown -R / baduser:baduser
