The once a day part is easy; reboot your server in the wee small hours.  We do 
this to solve the issue of users who don't log off.  To log users off after a 
period of inactivity, have a look at logmon available at www.computronics.com 
I intend to implement this when I can find the time.  The AIX version was 
very successful in my previous job.
