[K12OSN] Question on multiple network uses

Actually, he'd need to set his default gateway to that of eth0 on the
LTSP server, if he's doing the default two-NIC install. In this case,
he'll also have to turn on IP forwarding and NAT. That probably isn't
done, which is why his thick clients can't find the way out.

There's another, IMO easier, way to do this. Just do a single-NIC
install of LTSP. You can use either your existing DHCP server (up until
recently I used a Cisco 1605-R router for this purpose), or you can
actually make your LTSP server your official DHCP server for the whole
LAN, which is what I do now. The, in my case, K12LTSP server has one
Gig-E NIC. All my LTSP terminals and my thick clients (FreeBSD, Yellow
Dog, Slackware) get DHCP from the K12LTSP server and have no trouble at
all going out. I even had Windows 98, Windows XP, and Mac OS boxes do
the same thing, just for testing, and it works very well. The thick
clients will simply ignore any parameters that they don't need.
