Alan,
This sounds like perhaps your broadcast address isn't setup for your
network correctly. Either on the server, or on the clients.
can you send me the following 2 things:
1) your dhcpd.conf file.
2) all of the output from this command:
ifconfig -a
Armed with that knowledge, i should be able to see if that's the issue.
