I have successfully used a product called restore2kpro for years. I
believe when I first purchased it, it was roughly $30....one of the best
software utilities I've ever purchased. I have successfully recovered
data from formatted NTFS drives on numerous occassions. I would also
suggest booting to another XP machine, and connecting the damaged drive
to your additional machine for maximum recovery results.

HTH,

Brad
